A Photographic Journey: Reflecting on the ASMP Colorado Annual Board Member Retreat in Westcliffe, Colorado
As the founder of Architectural Storytelling, I found the experience from the recent 2023 American Society of Media Photographers annual board member retreat in Westcliffe, Colorado was an enlightening journey for me.
The retreat was held in the beautiful mountain town of Westcliffe, which provided the perfect backdrop for the event. It was an opportunity to take a break from our everyday lives and focus on the bigger picture of our industry.
Let me tell you, it was an incredible experience. Being surrounded by some of the most talented and respected photographers in the industry, and being able to discuss the current state of the photography world and brainstorm ideas for the future was truly inspiring.
During the retreat, we discussed the latest trends in photography and how we can support photographers and promote their rights. We also reviewed the organization’s finances, set goals for the upcoming year, and worked on strategies to grow the ASMP’s membership base.
One of my favorite parts of the retreat was the opportunity to network and share ideas with other industry leaders. The camaraderie and sense of community that was formed during the retreat was truly special.
As a photographer who is passionate about the craft, I am excited for 2023 and the opportunities that it holds, I am committed to continue to work towards the organization’s mission, which is to promote the rights of photographers, provide education on better business practices, and connect clients with professional photographers.
